Fresno Trip - Yosemite Interlude - Ann's Tree
To give everyone a change of pace from looking at my stuff, to acknowledge that I don’t photograph by myself on these trips, and to acknowledge not only the significant impact Ann has had on my work, but also the impressive progress she’s made in her own work, I thought I should share her tree photograph that I casually mentioned in a previous Yosemite post.Ann and I photograph well together. There’s only one other person (Len) I can categorically say that about, and only a handful of non-photographers that I’ve felt comfortable photographing with while they’re around (they leave me alone for the most part and don’t act bored or otherwise try to rush me), so photographing with her is a real pleasure. We share a similar way of working and a similar interest in locations to photograph. And I love looking at her images because she sees things ever so differently than I do. Yes, I admit that on occasion (like the one below), I feel a tinge of momentary jealousy at just how finely crafted some of her images are. Yet it always quickly turns into a sense of pride and happiness for Ann, and me kicking myself for not seeing it on my own - I mean, hey, I was there too!
All of that to say that I so enjoy being with and photographing with Ann and that I am so proud of her work that it is well worth it to share some of it with you. So here’s Ann’s tree from Yosemite:
Also, I guess I should let everyone know that we know we’ve been terribly negligent about our photo website. Ann is, right now, looking into re-doing the website so that it is much easier for us to upload and share more of the images from our trips. Also, it will likely be where this blog moves to so stay tuned for an announcement in the near future.
