We made the news!

Ok, while it wasn’t in the main-stream FAKE media, the Cap Jackson made the news!

I’m sure that for most of you, the MFAME (Marine Fuels and Marine Engines) and Container News websites are not on your daily reading list.  They sure aren’t on mine, but our friend Kelly did a little digging and found a couple of articles on the Cap Jackson fire here and here.

As you can see, it was a real fire.  Trying to look on the bright side of things, the smoke looks particularly bad hopefully because it is diesel burning and not because it was necessarily a large fire.  Also, the smoke really is blowing around the rear of the vessel where the engine is, and where very little of the containers are.  Odds are in our favor that our container isn’t one of those (you know my views on luck - but I’m not going to put money on it, just in case).

Apparently someone got inside to photograph some of the “damage.”  As you can see, lots of black soot from the diesel smoke.

My suspicion is that all the streaky white stuff are chemicals used to put out the fire.

Yesterday Ann went online to verify the location of the Cap Jackson.

Looks like she finally made it into port at Balboa.  Now to find out how our household goods are going to make it the rest of the way here.
