2023 Portfolio

If you want to just skip all my jabbering you can click here to take you to the Dan’s Photos > Annual Portfolios page, where you’ll see the link to the 2023 Portfolio.  Or you can work your way there using the header on the top of each page if you want to keep reading.  On the main page you’ll see a baker’s dozen my images from 2023.  If you’re wanting to see more, at the bottom is a “View more” button that  will take you to another 20 or so images from the year.

As you might expect, images from my road trip with Len dominate the selection.

I was, of course, on familiar turf for the most part on our trip and, despite having been away for a few years, I felt at home in the landscape.  I guess I can’t quite say that about US society, but that’s another story.

I’m sure being in so many gorgeous locations for the first time was a bit overwhelming for Len, but it was great spending quality time with him in-between photography sessions.  You really couldn’t ask for better locations to spend time with your brother.

It was definitely nice being on the road in a rig that could get us to amazing places during times of the day that make stunning landscapes even more spectacular.

In addition to the trip with Len, Ann and I went out to the Painted Hills for a weekend trip together, again in a vehicle that allowed us to spend the night there in one of our favorite camping locations.  That too reminded us of what we’ll be returning to once we decide we’ve had our fill of Europe.

But we aren’t quite to that point yet.  When we got back, we of course had some exploring of the Netherlands to do (greatly delayed by the Dutch bureaucracy, who weren’t sure they wanted to give me a class C driver’s license - but that got settled by . . . December).  So we wound up doing local exploring instead of real photo trips.  But by the end of the year we had done a bit of photography and were ready for much needed photography trips, which were definitely in the planning stages for 2024.

I hope you enjoy the 2023 Portfolio images.
