Postscript

As is so often the case, others are able to capture in words ideas that I struggle to articulate.  

I’m reading “The Soul of the Camera,” David duChemin’s new book and came across this:

When we look at our photographs and find not the slightest reflection of ourselves, it’s a good sign that our images have lost their souls.

That was the struggle I was having when looking at my Joshua Tree photographs.

Just more proof that I really mean it when I say I consider myself a quoter.
